Do you treat children?
About 25% of my practice is pediatrics. Common problems include ear infections, breathing difficulties, enlarged adenoids and/or tonsils, and sinusitis. Hearing testing is offered for children as young as 18 months of age.

Do you treat allergies?

Treatment is offered for nasal allergies caused by such allergens as pollens, molds, dust mites, etc. Allergy testing by both skin testing and blood testing (RAST test) is available at our main office in Durham.

I do not treat skin allergies, insect allergies, chemical sensitivities, or allergic asthma. Food allergies are treated only if their symptoms relate to the nose.

Do you treat thyroid disease?

Yes. Thyroid enlargement or thyroid masses can often be evaluated in the office by means of a fine needle biopsy.

Do you treat TMJ?

No. Although TMJ needs to be considered in any patient with ear pain, patients with known or suspected TMJ are best treated by a dentist or oral surgeon.

What insurance plans do you participate in?

At present, we take most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. We do not presently participate in Partners or Doctors Health Plan. Please check when you make your appointment as to whether we take your particular insurance.

Do you see patients without insurance?

Yes. Unlike many medical practices, we offer the same discounts to cash patients that we do to large insurance companies and HMOs.
